Coal Mining CEO: "My Bad"
Hours after announcing that twelve coal miners had lived through
the January 2nd West Virginia mining accident, Ben Hatfield, CEO of
the International Coal Group, made another announcement.
"My bad," Hatfield stated.
Turns out Ben got his story a little backwards. In fact, twelve
of the miners died. CEO Ben Hatfield has gotten a lot of backlash
from his jump of the gun with his misinformed late evening
announcement, and well deserved. A mishap like this is rare,
especially in this day and age. Imagine what would have happened in
other situations, if the commander were misinformed.
Football referees are never wrong. They're trained professionals
that get the
call right every time. These perfect individuals would get carried
out of the stadium if they got a call wrong.
What if President Bush were ever misinformed? The President of
the United States has to be perfect in every way. Do you think it
would be acceptable for him to make a national statement saying,
"oops. Turns out there were no WMD's." Of course not.
Seems like no one's perfect anymore. In fact, Webster's
Dictionary states that there is only one man left in the entire
world that is perfect. Bob Saget. All hail Mr. Tanner.
